Spoke to my brother-in-law, in the plastics injection molding biz. Clients are all the tech players since all those parts are made of injected plastic.

He tells me that of 4 shops here in Orange County - 3 have closed and all have lost their jobs. He is still alive for now.

Tells me a friends shop bid a bare bones, no profit bid to keep the boys busy of $32,000. Along comes China and bids the job at $4,000.

More and more work going overseas, he also tells me even old Tijuana, Mexico is seeing its jobs melt overseas to old China as well. Free-trade, WTO - we have only begun to see the impact.

Just found this interesting for what it is worth. Americans want cheap products - thus Greenies no inflation, but at what cost!!!!!!!! One more iron to the fire, what with all those Americans losing their jobs to cheap labor overseas.

Oh but I forget, we can all work in the financial services industry, design software or become movie stars or sport stars, flip burgers - so no worries, whom needs manufacturing anyway!
