As a result of overseas operations, China's oil import from the Sudan rose by 280 percent from
248,400 tons in the first quarter of 2000 to 1,196,100 tons during the January-March this year.
At present the Sudan has become the largest oil supplier to China.

According to statistics, Viet Nam exported 876,200 tons of crude oil to China in the first quarter
of this year, an increase of 37.3 percent over the year-earlier period.
