I tend to disagree with your narrow assessment of Intel's
contribution to the Rambus practical implementation.
There are other patents, filled jointly by Intel and
Rambus on the subject.
Without this invention there would be no working RIMMs,
therefore no P-4, no Dell,
and Rambus would be practically limited to applications
like PS2.
