Win, Re : "4 years is a pretty big slip" everytime it seems to get bigger. The first scheduled tapeout of Merced was end of 1997. It taped out mid 1999. That is 1.5 years delay. You may add 1 more year, if you count 2 years from tapeout to production instead of a 1. That's still a lot. But, do you have articles/reports (with dates from Intel) that indicates a 4 year slip ? Maui.
