I know you don't follow the stock FMO, but for the benefit of others who might -- it was noted in a Sci Am article as being a sponsor for research into the HCCI engine.

Something between a diesel and a conventional gas engine -- which promises better fuel efficiency and better environmental characteristics -- kind of blue sky as control of the engine is pretty difficult ... interesting read, though
