Maui, I think some people, including the AMDroids, believed that Merced was supposed to be released in 1997. Then they use that belief as a convenient strawman for their taunts.

When I joined, I believe the original release date was mid-1999. So to me, the slip was two years, which is no less excusable, but hey, two years sounds better than four. :-)
