To All: Well, this course of events certainly wasn't unexpected. The key still lies in SW's ability to move product through the channel and control its expenses. Of course it must continue developing new products to keep the flow going. Meanwhile, CW has to contend with keeping the financial boat afloat -- this whole scenario is not an easy undertaking. The greater problems at SW existed loooong before Walker started focusing on a narrower market and taking an axe to the place. Of course development of great products is necessary, but not if you spend yourself to death and end up without $ to market the resulting software (what happened pre-CW). So what's the situation now? Paul's spelled it out pretty clearly. SW should have a small loss or even a profit for this 1st quarter given that they wrote down everything including the kitchen sink ending 31 March. The big hurdle is convincing another "financier" to fuel the money train and let it chug.
