To Thread: Shouldn't AMD be ADVERTISING: Last night I had dinner with a buddy and was telling him the AMD story. We were both struck with how little he knew about AMD. He never considered anything but an Intel chip.
He has used computers since the 80's,usually ordered his own from white box builders, and at work, among a group of 6 account managers, he is the computer expert. (This means he knows a little about Windows 9x, understands the directory tree, and grasps the infallibility of computers, i.e, backup.
I do think this is telling. It illustrates how well the Intel marketing machine works, and, more importantly, what AMD needs to do.
On the good news side, a just learned that a very large software company here is Silicon Valley will be offering software to edit video... for both the home and professional market.
Good news... it needs lots of memory. More importantly, it needs a very fast processor. Minimum requirement is 700 MHZ. However, with a large file, you probably can't have too much of either.
Too long AMD, Lynn |
