Have you considered a smaller gun? I use a .410 for skeet and the recoil is quite light. Target shooters typically expose themselves to hundreds of shots in a tournament and by the end, the increased comfort is appreciated. As well, the gun is often lighter to carry and swings with less effort. If there's a downside, it's the lower scores.

Using small guns provide ready excuses for all misses.
