AMD Receives Praise From Gaming Community/Companies

AMD is at the E3 Summit in LA. Its basically a computer and video game summit where geeks like to hang out :)

Heres some nice comments from some assembled there (courtesy Chris Tom and AMDZone)

"AMD is always welcome..... and the firepower they bring in the form of the AMD Athlon processor is exactly
what the next generation of gamers hunger for," said Mike Wilson, CEO of the Gathering of Developers.

"Microsoft's Entertainment Business Unit's PC games division chose AMD processor-based
PCs this year for two major reasons: They have one of the best partner programs available,
and their willingness to deliver on their promises is second to none in the industry," said Matt
Ployhar, developer relations lead, Microsoft Games Group. "Additionally, the reliability and performance of AMD processor-based systems is a logical choice for tradeshows such as E3 due to the punishment they'll receive during the show from
the industry's hottest games."

"Without the help of AMD and their tremendous generosity and support, Eidos would not
achieve the great success we enjoy every year at E3," said Paul Baldwin, vice president of
Marketing for Eidos. "AMD truly defines the word partner."

"AMD continues to deliver a platform that not only strengthens the relationship between
Electronic Arts and AMD, but also provides the foundation for our leadership in the gaming
industry. Simply, our titles run beautifully on AMD Athlon processor-based systems," said Jeff
Brown, senior director of corporate communications, Electronic Arts. "We're very happy about
our third straight year working with AMD."

"AMD Athlon processors are rapidly becoming the processor of choice for serious gamers.
With industry-leading game benchmark results, coupled with a great price, they bring
high-performance gaming to the masses," said Tim Sweeney, president of Epic Games.
"AMD's developer support is awesome. AMD provides great technical information and
hardware well in advance of release, enabling leading-edge developers to take maximum
advantage of new features.

"The AMD Athlon processor brings a dynamic level of speed and performance to LucasArts'
PC games," says Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts Entertainment Company.

"For many years, AMD has consistently shown their overwhelming enthusiasm and support for
Sierra," said Dave Grenewetzki, president of Sierra On-Line, Inc. "They continue to
demonstrate their commitment to us in both our developer and publisher capacities. In all
likelihood, if you have seen one of our games demonstrated, it has been on an AMD system.
They make our games look great."

"We are glad to see AMD taking the gaming market seriously and designing technology that
truly addresses the needs of gamers," said John Smedley, vice president, chief operating
officer, Sony Online Entertainment.

"As a game developer who receives a fair amount of the newest hardware to evaluate and use,
AMD has constantly supplied us with superior equipment. AMD has been the easiest company
for us to work with, as their technical support and software infrastructure relations group have
gone above and beyond what we ever expected. We simply can't praise them enough," said
Scott Herrington, vice president of marketing for Turbine Entertainment Software. "AMD has
brought out some pretty big guns."

The Jim Henson Creature Shop, creators of state-of-the-art animatronics and computer
graphics characters for film and television worldwide, will be showing off four Henson Digital
Production Systems (HDPS) powered by eight 1.33GHz AMD Athlon processors with DDR
memory. These mini-production studios are used to deliver entertaining digital character
performances and to bring next-generation video game content to both the Internet and to
digital television. You can visit both the Jim Henson Interactive team and the Jim Henson
Creature Shop team at E3 in booth 7203 located in the Kentia Hall.

"The AMD Athlon processor powered by DDR memory delivers performance that makes
real-time digital performances possible and brings significant realism to our digital puppets
and characters," said Jeff Forbes, Computer/Electronics Supervisor of the Los Angeles Jim
Henson's Creature Shop. "AMD processors make our R&D and Production pipelines that
much more efficient which in the end translates to faster content creation and saved costs."
