Repricing of Options

siliconinvestor.com

I wish us stockholders would get such do-overs with our shares. So let's see, 30% of the options will be re-priced immediately. This will result in variable accounting with respect to such options, or in simple terms, a big fat accounting charge every quarter that the company will label as a stock compensation expense (and of course will not report as part of their pro-forma results). In addition, 70% of the options will be repriced at the fair market value of the stock in 6 months. Gee, I guess these employees now have great incentive to not let the share price climb for the next six months as they will want their options priced as low as possible. Its amazing how these companies have figured out how to use stock options as an incentive to keep the share price down.
