RE:"Don't know posted before. Obviously, SONY is fully embracing AMD. Never seen VAIO Athlon before."

I think the importance of Sony and AMd is understated. Before AMD, Sony was essentially an Intel box. Intel chip, Intel motherboard..I even heard they were assembled by Intel.
Sony first adopted AMD through the notebook line, in Japan. Expanded to the US and then into desktops.

Why is this important? Well, if Sony did it, then Dell could follow the same path.
OTOH, if Dell was testing Palomino notebooks, I'm sure Intel is aware of it now and putting on major pressure to prevent it...cutting big time deals. This is the norm.

Also, be advised that Intel supplying XBox chips to Microsoft pretty much sealed AMD as a Sony chip supplier.
Intel showed no loyalty to Sony, Sony will show no loyalty to Intel.
