Jim:

I suspect that "loyalty" is only a consideration where "win" products are involved...When "clean kill" products come along, "loyalty" takes a distant second to "maintenance of status quo" and/or "survival" !!!

Dell has already demonstrated undue amount of "loyalty" to INTC over the past 2 years in response to INTC's seemingly endless promises over that period of closing the price/performance gap on AMD...Just hasn't happened and the palomino has now arrived on the scene which widens the gap considerably, and in new market segments, i.e laptop, server and workstation segmants...Dell can afford no longer to allow "loyalty" to interfere with their need to maintain their "status quo" as a world leader!!!Dell has already paid a heavy "loyalty" price!!!
