Hi John:

Hoping gold stays above 275 for 2 closes. I almost sold some of my gold shares today but decided to be patient. I still expect AG to cut one more time since we still have bad news coming out till the summer & we need a weaker $$ or are manufacturing sector will not be able to compete (we seem to be back in the 85 / 86 time frame with the $$ strength).

WIND is in my sights long term. I wouldn't buy unless its under $19 and actually now expect to see it lower than that amount so I'm not sure what a good entry is. Time will tell.

On the goodwill issue yes and no. I can't understand why M&A would accelerate due to the change. IMO it really doesn't change the underlying fundamentals, just whats reported. CEO's and CFO's look to the underlying fundamentals first and then use accounting methods to help justify the deals (with maybe a little price adjustment).

On a separate note I see the brokerages lobbying congress to force the SEC's hand to resind Reg FD. I actually like the reg although it has had an impact on TA analysis. By this I mean now when news comes out a stock jumps (or falls) where in the old days it would be priced into the stock as the anaylsts already had their favored clients positioned.

Have a good weekend.

Tim
