Bankers' real cost of borrowing fast approaching zero

``There is only one scenario to encompass what stocks, bonds and eurodollar futures are doing,'' says Chris Low, chief economist at First Tennessee Capital Markets. ``The euros are telling us the Fed is done. Stocks are telling us we won't see profits for a year. And bonds are saying that inflation is on its way.''

The bottom line is that the Fed is ``fueling inflation in a depressed environment,'' Low says. ``We're going to have no growth and inflation.''

Low thinks Greenspan has become a victim of his own rhetoric.
