<<Question: isn't there some legal liability for selling a street bike that can do 160? I mean, where in the entire United States is 160 legal?>>

Wyoming I believe, as long as it's not too fast for conditions. Race tracks would be another.

Remember when we had a nation wide 55 limit? My Riv would bury the 120 on the speedometer.

About 15 years ago the first Ninja type rice burners started showing up. They would do 140. They also came with instructions to reverse the muffler to get the top end to 160.
