Wily, Consumer Confidence I am worried by the fact that the GAP is experiencing slowdowns. When people stop shopping at the usual fashion stops it must mean that something just isn't right. Also noticed that almost all the stuff the wife picks up for the kids is hitting the shelves with a sale price sticker. Got most of the summer wardrobe for them dirt cheap. Mirror Bit Flash by AMD I think the innovation is great and I am glad you posted the news here. I think AMD will benefit from their efforts, but don't see SanDisk to be jeopardized by this technological leap. Some of the competitors in the lower density flash market might be at a competitive disadvantage, however. OT Alert Did anyone else read about Palm's difficulties? I never really understood the market caps assigned to Palm, Hand or even Rimm and now it seems that the market is putting things back into perspective. Kinda scary really. siliconinvestor.com In economic times like these I don't see people springing for expensive handheld upgrades when last year's models are on sale at bargain basement prices. Palm is really getting hammered on both fronts...can't move new products and can't get the old stuff out the door without steep discounts.
