rudedog - two points to discuss

revenue in the enterprise business for DELL grew 43% in units and 17% in revenue last qtr. I think you stated that enterprise revenue was not growing. this is clearly not true. You might want to download the presentation from DELL's website for more interesting statistics.

I also think you are missing the point of DELL's current strategy. You have posted several times that you feel the problem with current strategy is lack of earnings growth. What do you think the alternative strategy might be ??

If they were not near as aggressive in pricing, they would not even be able to drive the current sales level and net margins and earnings would be even worse because of the fixed overhead etc....

Until there is resurgence in demand, DELL has little choice except to continue on current path. They are certainly kicking the snot out of their competitors right now. Look at what GTW, CPQ, HWP, or IBM has said recently about the pc business and it is clear DELL's profitability is more than entire industry combined.
