AMD was pushing DDR, and Intel was insisting on RDRAM.

After a fighting bitterly for nearly two years, Intel swallowed its pride, blushed a bright red, and threw in the towel. Intel has announced SDRAM and DDR chipsets for P4 and is franticly rushing them to market.

It's kind of like AMD going with SSE vs. their own 3DNow.

For anything other than the very short term. RDRAM is as dead as 3DNow.

Unless some miracle occurs, and Rambus manages to establish a supportable claim on SDRAM or DDR, the company is doomed.
