<Since Amati licenses the DMT technology to Motorola, this would
seem unlikely, though I'm not sure how the end-product licensing of
CopperGold, itself, works.>

Edward and others have mentioned the possibility of cross-licensing. MOT has spent 6+ months getting ADSL-DMT to work on a chip, Surely there would be reason for Amati to want to use MOT's technology? They could BUY it, barter for it or cross-license. Has anyone YET seen numbers from Amati on MOT or any licensing contracts?

<Every chip that goes out of Motorola stamped with CG has to pay royalties to AMTX.>

You know this for a fact? That there are dollars signed from MOT to Amati on CG? If you know this, fine. If not, why state this as fact?

(You know, I like xDSL, ADSL, DMT and even Amati's efforts. It's biased reports and hype - potentially errant - stated as fact, that I find annoying and irresponsible. Maybe it's just a difference in approach - kind of an art/science thing... I appreciate both vision AND imagination, I just like to be able to distinguish between the two)

Regards-

Steve
