Let's not go there re mideast war. Don't worry. Been talking to all my friends here in Texas. After his nasty comments, we have a plan to make Gov. Gray Davis feel more friendly to Texas. We are going to send him some crude oil from Texas (in Lone Star beer longneck bottles :) ). Of course, I doubt if there are any refineries in California that can refine it. [joke] You guys in California really ought to turn out the Governor and half the legislature for doing y'all in and for not being honest enough to tell the people that price controls do not work. The legislation that prohibited forward contracts was insane. Bush's plan to get rid of all the specialty gasolines is smart and try to get down to only a few is smart. Do you realize there are 50 blends and the pipelines therefore can't just send gasoline where it's needed, because of so many specialty formulations. That won't help CA electricity problem but it will help distribute gas where it's needed and eliminate spot shortages that can increase the price. The price will go down just on that, because we will no longer have 50 separate markets. Should have virtually immediate impact; I think it can be done by regulation rather than statute. BTW, unleaded regular prices dropped 4 cents in the last few days.
