Paul, as you probably know, right now I have donned on my "Bull Suit", it may be for just two to four weeks (as it was around Jan 4th and March 22nd). Since in the short term liquidity is shopping for "comparative values" rather than "absolute value", the comparison I attempted might be valid.
No, CCMP is not part of my core (god forbid VBG), it is a highly volatile stock with a predictable (well, somewhat predictable) price pattern, and a potential for a breakout above $70. I already had one short trip to $68 (from under $63) and reentered with just a $2 discount. If it fails to pierce $70 next week, I'll be out as fast as I got in. (g).
It is actually "wrong" to classify it like a semi-equip. company, since it is really a "consumable" company, more related to actual "chip shipments", then to the rate of change of chip shipments (as the semi-equip companies are). Unlike the latter group, they do not get pneumonia when the chip sector catches their cyclical colds. (g).
