JS,
I guess you don't understand long-term appreciation and the effects of inflation on beating mattress returns. You'd think with your plethora of discounting methods, you'd see that with your 94% gain in MO over the last year, you're barely above the early 97 high and you have many liabilities staring you in the face. Even though they have won some of their US court battles, the world has figured out a way to retrieve easy money at MO's expense. What innovation does MO have that will drive it's revenues and earnings higher? I don't see it. I may be wrong, no doubt, but I will look for growth as I still believe that most people can't afford to retire at 62 or 65, or whenever they become eligible for ss. My assumption v. yours that they will all take their money out of equities and invest in fixed income instruments.
As far as blabbering about CSCO reaching 50 in 5 years, there is a possibility as the buildout of telephony has still not reached much of the world. The number of capable companies providing such continues to shrink. That means those left in the end have greater opportunity for growing at healthy rates. You can scoff if you wish, but even though you believe you have beat me, you have no idea what I or anybody else has. You come here claiming to be neutral and post bearish without fail. Then you wonder why people who are optimistic, without telling folks to buy or sell, question your integrity. I think you still have much to learn in your next 60 years.knc
