designed to avoid personal responsibility to a personal God for all the sins we have committed in our lives.
I will always respect your right to choose to believe in a personal Savior , Greg, or your Religion,s thoughts on Sin and debts and afterlife judgement (egyptian)
But as a "Christian" interested in peace , how can you make the statement concerning the life and teachings of Buddha:
Since Guata, claimed nauta, compared to Christ, he's squata. Message 15605716
It is one thing to pursue a deep belief in the "Lord" another to ignore & redicule a very great example of a truely great and spiritually oriented Human being that did nothing but devote his entire life to teaching a path almost similar in thought and deed to your own master? (500 yrs earlier)
And most of the great minds of humanity have found so much in those teachings that should only be praised, studied and respected ...
If you would ever like to know why Christianity will have a very difficult time ever taking hold in India, Sri Lanka, Asia , Japan, and many parts of the orient, it is sad to point out that remark above as being one of the chief reasons .

PS: Theologically speaking Christianity and Buddhism are not so disimilar...both teachers were on the same track as well. Buddha just came first in another region , a truely great civilization that had already recognized "peace" (Ahimsa) east of Babylon. |
