Have they worked around the platinum issue yet? Platinum isn't exactly cheap and I don't see any reason for it to be cheap again. I'm curious if anyone knows the trade-off in precious metal content when switching to fuel-cells. As far as I know you need platinum as a catalyst at low temperatures, and that will be expensive. But then you won't need platinum/palladium in a catalytic convertor right? I don't exactly know if there is a net gain or loss in precious metal content.

Why don't you tap into your vast knowledge and connections to find out for me. I'd appreciate that.
