Scientific American used to be worth reading. Now its just another rag.

I got my latest copy and read the intro editorial. They were ragging on
George W for his ANTI ICBM proposal and for his unwillingness to go
along with that Kyoto agreement. They were claiming that it was "Faith
Based" reasoning driving Bush's decisions. I wrote them back and ripped
em good.

First I asked the editors if they thought we shouldn't have built any defense
for Pearl Harbor because at that time, there was little in the way of defense
against a carrier based attack. Then I asked em if we should end the US
fossil fuel based economy as we know it because a few Chicken Little's
without even a decent climate model told us that global warming was going
to get us. That in fact, is "faith-based" reasoning, not the practical and
prudent decisions of the President.

Sheesh...it looks like any twit can become the editor of a magazine these days.
