I couldn't understand that chart or what it was trying to show. However I made my own version and it shows the Commercials have never been as short as they have been last year to now and they are covering. I downloaded all the data from the Fed site which was from 1986 to now and they have been net long the whole time until this downturn except for brief periods. Anyway, here is the chart.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to work in an overlay of the SPX to the chart since the data is every other week and thinning out my SPX values would take a long time.

Congrats on finishing your weekly scan. Not sure a weekly MA will be quick enough but I guess it would be OK for longer term positions.

Dennis - Congratulations on your good news. You deserve it!

Good Luck,

Lee
