Well, let's hope that Arab leaders pulled Arafat aside during the recent Arab League meetings and told him they weren't willing to invite war with Israel over Palestinian terrorism. ""

A very realistic view! As you fully agree, Arab leaders have their own daily problems to face, and have no reason to
go on the war footing for Arafat! They will pay lip service
to his cause, to keep their ignorant masses happy, but they will not go to war for him! The only nation that could used this pretext and do a foolish act is Sadam Husein. He will not do it for Arafat, but will do it if he has anything to gain!

Syrians equally have plenty to loose! The days Soviet Union used to ship free arms to Syria are over. They have an army of occupation in Baaka and Lebanon, more to protect the right of 2 million Syrian workers in Lebanon, and keep Lebanon a colony, than to threat Israel! I travelled to Lebanon on business in 1997. Moving from Christian part of Beirut to the Moslem part at night we had to cross the Syrian roadblocks. Was surprised to see elite Syrian troops begging for cigarets from the passing cars! This rag-tag army is not threat to Israel. The threat comes from the Hezbullah that hides behind it!
