Margie,

All your questions are certainly valid for those thinking of investing in gold stocks, although I'm not sure anyone can answer them honestly. One approach I've been taking with the gold mining and exploration juniors, I own a few, is to make sure they have cash in the bank. If the gold price crashes again at least there is some actual value in your company shares.

There are quite a few abandoned mines that just weren't profitable to keep open the last few years, and I would expect they would be the first to recover during a lasting gold price upturn. The cost of re-opening these mines would be much less than developing new ones.

Personally I think it is way too early in the cycle for the financing to be readily available to the exploration juniors. Unless...they already have JV's with cash rich seniors. BWTHDIK

regards,
Al
