Perhaps you should check this page out before you start your ramblings on no basis. QCT had made revenues of more than $1B each year for 3 years and has been keeping about 30% profit. I fail to see your point about them not being able to sustain their R&D efforts or to make a profit.

And I would suspect that Classic Q would issue development contracts for specific ASICS and markets to Spinco on an ongoing basis.
