AT&T Master Card (owned by CitiCorp) sent a similar notice which permits internal sharing with Salamon Smith Barney and Travelers, including account balances and purchasing decisions.

Many people are recylcing these notices, which often come buried in account statements.

I hope you opted out. Can't understand why a brokerage or insurance company needs your Mastercard account balance and purchase decisions or, at least, how sharing that information with Travellers or SSB would help you.

It will be a surprise to people to learn that--just from having a credit card--if they don't opt out in time their purchasing decisions can be shared with other companies (and whoever may acquire them in the future).
