Elmer, so if they have to raise Vcc to 1.8 volts to get rid of the instability or crash problem in SOME of them, it's possible some of the rest, at that voltage, will burn. Crash and burn, baybe. AMD can kiss Dell, if not their own ass, goodbye.

Remember the ungodly voltage regulators some PC integrators had to use in the early days to get Athlon stable? Pictures of it were here. Scumbria's search engine could find them. 1999, about May. I posted some of them myself. Might have been more to that than we all could have suspected.
