I have no idea what your post is about Jenna in regard to my post. Also, in regards to your recent private messages to me here on SI, I am requesting that you do not send me any more private messages. Also, do not do it on iHub. I will post publicly what you send, and will also report you for not honoring my request. If you have anything to say to me, please say it on SI or iHub in a public post to me.
I am researching the net in regards to how one markets a business and that is what that post is about really. My observations and what I am learning.
The power of Silicon Investor for the right people who need to be out there on the net for all to see. The ones who like being #1. The ones who get free advertising for their wares from being on SI. The way the system appears to work with marketing.
I have also observed some errors in the systems and will respond to you seeing as how you posted to me.

When I continued my research for someone who is starting a business using the net to get clients and wants to know how to market their business, I followed the above information to the SI threads and this is my observations after checking the five sites that were on the Busiest Boards list from back then, doing the research today though.
I have copied and pasted the first and the last posts that were posted on January 25, 2001 from each of those threads.

Now my question is this Jenna?
Why do you think that so many good threads were not on that Busiest Boards list, and especially threads that had a way lot more posts than Infospace(7 posts) and Market Gems(6 posts)? There are some excellent threads on Silicon Investor that had more posts than that and seem to be very deserving of being on that list.
My first thought as I started was that you guys were paying to be there, but then, there was Infospace, and JDSU so that stopped me thinking that.
They also do not have the thread with the most posts in proper order as you notice as I posted them here in the order that they were listed on that site. I would have thought that if ranked in order of most posts it would read The Thread 286 JDSU 182 Come Trade 72 InfoSpace 7 Market Gems 6 It seems that I recently saw a graph on TheStree.com now
Maybe the system was not functioning properly that day? Guess we will never know unless you answer my question as you would be more informed than many of us about this. I really need to get reliable information for the person who wants to start a business. |
