Frank,

Sorry, I can't get into technical details. I was responding to over simplified analyst and media fear mongering based upon the notion that most of 360's sales are of a "one time nature" with no after sale revenue or cash flow, implying that 360 is about to "crash and burn". The intention of my post was only to present how I see the current situation in general and from diferent perspectives.

I do know that 360 has sold dark fibre on land routes. That is how they offset some of the cost. I don't know if they have sold any on transoceanic spans. The transoceanic spans have only just been completed and put into service. If any fiber has recently been sold or will be sold on the transoceanic lines, we should soon here. How much detail will be provided is another matter as it is probably a competitive secret.

On another topic, do you have an opinion on the prospects for the ELAS "last mile" high speed-broad band solutions for twisted pair copper wire? I see they beat out Alcatel, Cisco, Lucent, Copper Mountain and even their parent company Nortel for a large contract with a Baby Bell, Verizon. TIA

regards,
teevee
