I could add up all Lincoln cent the mintages since 1909, but that really would not tell us how many are in circulation. Besides, there are about 155 pre-1982 copper cents in a pound, so you don't have to start hoarding them for melt value (or write a book, yet !)

The US Mint has been spitting out about 11-12 billion cents per year recently. A quick add of the 1983-to-date mintages gives me about 220 Billion cents.
