Question for anyone:

I have some cedar beams across my patio from which to hang flower baskets. For the second time, a carpenter bee has drilled a hole in the bottom of one. I plugged the hole, plus the previous one, with garlic cloves.

Now my question. What if the bee were inside? Did I inadvertently kill it? I feel guilty about that.
