Arafat has been there way too long. At least the Jews vote in their leaders. Time for a new creed but how? Can you imagine if Native American Indians started strapping bombs on and wandering into U.S. malls how quickly that would be dealt with! Would the U.S. be complacent about it for 100 years?

It looks like the U.S. in trying to develop new resources and move away from Arab oil is trying force these players to play themselves out. I read there is talk to trade oil on the Islamic Gold Dinar and to take it off the U.S. dollar standard. That should win them even more friends.

NATO can't solve regional animosities. The small eastern European countries had the Soviet Union there as the tough guy. All their fighting is just a search for the next tough guy. When real atrocities happen NATO won't be there anyway.
