I never advocated a price floor for the energy companies in 1998-1999. It is the people who advocate price controls who first introduced the notion of "fair profit" into the discussion, not me! I was merely asking someone else who advocates price controls now if they would have also supported them then. If not, why not? At what point, if any, does their notion of "fair profit" apply when energy prices get "too low". That person has yet to respond, by the way...
