I read the fine print for c2it and you need to be careful with cards other than Citibank issue, because it says that the issuer can decide to treat it as a cash advance if they so choose. It's probably just a boilerplate warning because it's out of their control and it could happen. The CSR at Chase told me the only thing that matters is how the transaction is coded when it goes through but I am still sending through a test transaction that will only cause the minimum cash advance fee when I first use a card from another bank. So far, no problem, Chase, Fleet and First USA all see them as purchases. I wasn't able to add my GM Card. I suppose that some wiseguy racked up a huge rebate and they got mad.

Another word of caution: the idiots dropped an extra $400 into my linked checking account on Friday. I'm hoping they just take it back and don't give me any big headaches. Of course maybe it's a bonus for being such a good customer? -g- Regardless, make sure that each transaction goes through as expected. If they can accidently put money into an account, they can accidently forget to do so.

Still, it makes those 0% for purchases only viable, at least for the next 90 days.

Regards,

Barb
