Drilling horizontally from a few platform areas will not effect any habitat. Nuclear would be better and cleaner in the long run than oil. The fact is no matter what anybody is trying to sell we will be heavily relying on oil for the next 50 years.

If you are really concerned about the ANWR get involved to make sure good guidelines are in place and reasonably enforced. You would be doing the eco-system a far greater favor because nothing is going to stop progress.

What is so voodoo about oil? Don't you like natural substances? Sometimes oil lays on top of the ground. Do you picket the la breah tar pits? Al Gore has a zinc mine that sometimes releases arsenic into the environment. What is special about his domestic zinc that is better than domestic oil that helps the economy and cuts down reliance on foreign producers.
