Interesting article : title --- Why are we talking 4G?
Source: ROAM magazine
www.totaltele.com/roam

Excerpt from the article

A knowledgeable contributor to TotalTelecom's 4G forum has pointed out that:"The problem with 3G is that when you actually read the specs (eg Tdoc SMG2 435/97), the data rates talked about are nowhere near the 2Mbps sometimes spoken of, but are nearer a maximum of 144kbps. Even that may be more than can really be delivered." If this individual is wrong then I'd love to hear from Ericsson, Nokia, Nortel, Motorola or anybody else. And if he is right, a lot of guys have been very economical with the truth.
