Re: <<"A BILLION CONNECTED COMPUTERS" >> John: I think you are really on to something with this approach. Clearly, the recent analysts meeting was not the right venue to get that point into everyone's head for the reasons you and Jules allude to.
A true story may be appropriate here. When reporters complained to FDR why he repeated the same things in his Fireside chats, he said, "Some times people need to hear things many times before they know them."
I think this "BCC" idea is important to "theme" a meeting, but it may not sink in unless each presenter talks about the implications of that statement, in terms of fabs, users, etc. If you paint a picture, more will get it.
Re: INVITING REPORTERS. That's a double edged sword. Clearly when there's a "crisis du jour", as you pointed out, you won't get a positive bounce. But if you can keep the presentations away from the 2nd quarter, you may have more luck.:)
Hope these thoughts are helpful. You guys are doing a great job, considering all the stuff that has been hitting the fan over the past couple of months. If you stick to your game plan you (and we) will do just fine.
