Because mobile phones are mainly used by business people in the United States, 3G will not take off there as quickly as in Asia and Europe, where the phones have made more inroads into the consumer market, he said.

1. Who does he think is paying the charges from roaming use at over $1.50 per minute or more all over GSM land. It is the business users. No-one in Europe who pays his own phone bill is using raoming to any material extent and roaming is where GSM land is making its profit.

2. I wonder if there are more buiness people in Europe or in the US? The write of the article just hasn't focused on the mani issue being handests ( phones) are not where the growth in cdma2000 is going ot come from. It is noteboook and PDA and automible modems.

Still it is fun to watch this kind of commentary.

Best regards,
