McAfee Shares Soar on Microsoft Deal
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Security software maker McAfee.com Corp. (Nasdaq:MCAF - news) said on Tuesday it signed a strategic alliance with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news), prompting shares of the security software firm to soar over 55 percent.

Shares of McAfee, which sells software over the Internet to protect companies' data, jumped $4.50, or 55.06 percent, to $12.60 by midday on the Nasdaq.

Sunnyvale, California-based McAfee said it signed an alliance with Microsoft to integrate its software -- including anti-virus, privacy, and firewall products -- with Microsoft's .Net Internet servers.

In addition, the two companies will also work to integrate McAfee's software with Microsoft's ``Passport'' and ``Hailstorm'' Web-based software services
