REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2001--Research firm The Dell'Oro Group, Redwood City, Calif., reports that 3Com Corporation, Santa Clara, Calif.,(Nasdaq: COMS) has earned the highest growth rate worldwide in Gigabit switched Ethernet shipments at 131% quarter-to-quarter in the firm's Q12001 Ethernet Switch Report. This growth enabled 3Com to increase its market share to 19.2% while Cisco and other vendors' market share declined. Also, Dell'Oro reports that 3Com's market share in 10/100 Mbps unmanaged switched Ethernet grew to 20.2%. The firm ranks 3Com #2 in these key market categories, confirming the company is on track to achieve its goal to earn leadership in the Gigabit Switched Ethernet market while continuing leadership in 10/100 switched Ethernet.
