If this thing ends up lower today though on such big volume, doesn't that signal (does to me, at least) that this may be a top, vs. continuation of a powerful trend....

That is possible. To me it depends upon how much of the decline we see in the Nasdaq.
If this was to turn into a down 30-40 point day (for example), that would not be a positive..A small loss may not be a big deal.
On the other hand, we have to note that we had several positive days on the Naz in a row and a bit of a breather may not be a big deal....another factor to consider.
However, a late day selloff of sufficient magnitude is going to get me evaluating some of my long positions.

Still think we can get at least a positive close; something like a + 30 point move. That would confirm a powerful trend. At least that is what I am betting on.

Will be interesting to see if the strong volume extends into the last 2 hours of trading.

btw--still watching msft; near the 70 level.
