Aljubarrota No.2 Sidetrack commenced.

Desire Petroleum plc announces that operations on the Aljubarrota No.2 well
sidetrack commenced on the 22nd May 2001. The sidetrack will test the
development of the gas-bearing Brenha Limestone Reservoir which produced gas
from Aljubarrota No.2 straight hole. If successful, the new well will be
subjected to a prolonged production test in order to establish the potential
of the discovery.
