Well, I don't know where they originated, but it is basically a smoked sausage with cheddar cheese in it. They are sold locally buy Smith Provision..out of Erie...and also by Hillshire Farms, which is out of Cinincinati Ohio... just thought it was kind of a funny play on words . . . . . . . . . . . . .<almost nothing worse than having to explain ones jokes!!! LOL>
