If I could find one that would beat the %'s I can achieve from trading I probably would. There's nothing noble or righteous about holding stocks for the long-term. That is all just a bunch of hogwash perpetrated on the investing public by the government and the media. You know what the problem is? Normally buy and hold is a worthwhile strategy and does well over extended periods of time. Unfortunately my friend these aren't normal times. We just experienced the biggest bubble in history. Yes, buy and hold works most of the time. But it is not a good strategy very near the top of a bubble, or usually for several years following one. I'm sure you and most everyone else are aware that sometimes there are 10-15 year time periods where stocks significantly underperform other assets. I happen to believe that we are in one of those periods right now. It's not all that uncommon, the Dow was flat from 1000 to 1000 for 15 years ending in 1982. The market took 15 years to recover from the aftermath of the crash of '29. Japan's stock market still languishes 12 years after it's bubble popped. It could easily take us 10-15 years to recover from the aftermath of the bubble that Greenspam and his cronies have so generously bestowed upon us

By the way, there is one stock that I think might be a good buy and hold for the next 10 years. Promise you'll laugh, it can't be cheap and a good buy if no one laughs at you!
