The rather gaunt looking bartender drew on his cigarette.
As the half spent butt remained barely stuck to his lips, he pulled two coffee cups down from the group of overhanging mugs and glasses.
The bartender put one cup in front of Precious and one in front of himself as he poured the day old java and introduced himself.
"My name is Pete", he said in a scruffy, worn out sort of voice as he topped off the filled cup with a little milk.
"Sugar?"

Precious, still feeling a little light headed and tired, took the teaspoon and added two full rounds of sugar to her cup and smiled at the bartender. As she slowly stirred the spoon around in tight circles, a sparkle formed in her dark eyes as she peered into the worn, slightly blood shot eyes of the quickly aging 40 year old tavern owner.
"Thanks" she said while wondering if beneath that weathered face was someone she recognized from days long since past.

She studied the barkeep as he walked over to pour some Southern Comfort for one of the remaining bikers.
As he reached upwards to return the bottle to it's space on the dusty shelf, she noticed part of a faded tatoo showing from under the sleeve of the stained white tee shirt.

It was difficult to make out the image. Just like the face of the salty bartender, the tatoo appeared to have a vague familiarity.

She stared at the reflection in her coffee as she tried to piece together the possible lost memories...
